Woke up this morning at 7:15, got all my gear together, checked the weather, made my coffee, and ate my nutri-grain bar! I then set out for my 8 mile journey! I felt GREAT! Never once stopped and the most I slowed down to was a 9:10 minute pace and that was at mile 7. I picked my speed back up to 8:45 the last mile to end my great eight miles!
I left this morning with it being around 40 degrees, but felt like 32 with the wind chill! The wind was blowing at 13 MPH when I left and when I finished it was blowing at 20 with gust up to 30. Needless to say, I should have waited to go running after church because the wind died down this afternoon... OH WELL! I will just say it was resistance! :o)
I was just thrilled I got to run outside and the wind was not blowing like this
because on any given windy day in West Texas it could look like this! :o)
Go give Alyssa a CoNgRaTs for running 17 miles in the FREEZING cold! Great Job Alyssa! She now gives me inspiration and motivation when I don't want to roll out of bed and run in 30 degree weather!!!
Now, I am off to cut out all of this jazz for this weeks math lessons!!
What do you have to do to get ready for this week?
- I have to cut out lamination!! This is the story of my life!!
Hope everyone has a great Monday!!!
You can send the laminating to me! I love cutting! It relaxes me.
ReplyDeleteWow! Great job on the 8 mile run especially in those conditions! I am such a wimp- I will run on the treadmill until it is like 50 degrees..ha!
ReplyDeleteI have a TON of laundry to do for this week...blah!
Awesome! And way to brave the wind... that usually makes it all a little less fun ;-)
ReplyDeleteCan't you get a parent to cut that stuff out for you. My kids' teachers always have us doing stuff. I'm sure there are moms like me out there willing to help :D You do enough for their kids!
ReplyDeleteI love you so much for the shoutout! Cold is all relative so great job on your 8 miles - and I would rather put up with the cold than the wind any day!
ReplyDeleteGOOD JOB on your run! I can't wait to get to run again!
