Count downs are on...
This week has been super busy, but coming to an end! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! John and I ran the Turkey Trot on Thursday, went to my home town Thursday and had lunch with my fam and then off we went to his hometown Friday night and returned Saturday! Today all we have done is put up Christmas decorations and lights! YEAH! There are lots of count downs starting today!
Turkey Trot Pics!
1st count down is...
7 DAYS until the White Rock Half Marathon! Super excited, but nervous all at the same time... it's suppose to rain?
Have you ever ran a half or full marathon in the rain? How did you prepare for it?
2nd countdown is...
14 FULL days and 3 HALF Days!
Couldn't be more excited!
3rd count down is...
exactly 4 weeks until the Best Time of the Year!
In the midst of my down time during Thanksgiving break I have managed to run, shop (ALOT... Black Friday me and two other girls started at 9:30 PM Thursday night and finished at 7:30 AM Friday morning... now that is some serious shopping :o), read and be crafty! This week I made wood block picture frames... super cute!
I have to glue to clip on it, but other than they are finished! You could put a christmas card or a picture or even a recipe if you would like! Lots of fun!
I finished "Now You See Her," by James Patterson
Really good, couldn't put it down
If you are looking for a good book to read this is great, keeps you on your toes!
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
:o)

I'm too old...
So after this wild Party like a Rock Star weekend I'm way too old for this weekend (my brother turned 21 this weekend)
I am now back on track with running... SORTA! I did run 5 miles tonight and it was actually easy and relaxing after laying around, curled up, drinking water all day Sunday AND being addicted to this jazz
I am running the Turkey Trot on Thursday
then I am off to the BIG D the next weekend to run my 4th Half Marathon
I am really excited about running this because I have heard it is a very pretty course and lots of FUN! Just what I need to get my booty in gear to run more!
Are you running a turkey trot??
If you needed some Monday Motivation (that I am way late on) or some Tuesday Motivation
If you are a teacher and have to go to school tomorrow... T-1 DAY! We can do it!

Running Buddy!
YEA!! I. AM. SO. EXCITED!!!!! Miss Danielle and I went running today at our old hang out (Mae Simmons)! It was soo much fun! I am so excited to have a running buddy! She rocked it too! It felt soo good to have the feeling of my lungs burning after an a hilly run! :o)
Ok, so I am ADDICTED to Pinterest and I am so happy that my brothers girlfriend is too! So over our dinner tonight we got to chit chat about it and talk about how awesome it is! How fun is that? :o)
This is my brother and his sweet girlfriend on Halloween!
I tried out a smoothie prep thing I found on Pinterest. It is suppose to help by making a smoothie a lot less time consuming... its pretty handy!
I call it the Smoothie Prep
(I know, how original)
First you have to get frozen fruit that you like in a smoothie. I bought strawberries and bananas from Target
Then I seperated 1 cup of fruit into individual baggies
Then I spooned yogurt into a ice tray to freeze it
and I used just regular light yogurt (because it was what John man bought)
It was super easy. After the yogurt froze I just emptied the ice tray and put about 3-4 cubes of yogurt into each bag. In the mornings I just empty one bag of smoothie mix and add one cup of milk and Voila! It was much faster than adding all of the ingredients in in the morning!
Do you do anything in the morning to make getting breakfast ready easier?

Small Town!
Today was my longest run yet on my training... 10 miles! I woke up this morning and needed a little motivation so I read some Pinterest Fintess pictures! I am absolutely addicted to that site! I took off about 8:30 and it felt great outside. Not too cold! I was fine running with the wind and then I had to turn around at mile 4 and I was against the wind! (15-25 MPH...remember I live in West Texas) BLAH! My body was prefectly fine until I hit mile 7 and my eyes got a huge gust of dirt blown in them! SOOOO I had to stop and get the dirt out and took a GU while I was blinking away! Overall, my run was GREAT! I felt great and It was fun! My goal was under a 9:10 pace and I DID IT! 9:07! So, while I was running I made some goals for my half in December!
1. Try for under a 2:05 half! (which I know I can do... it is just the mind over matter)
2. Not go to the bathroom (surely if I can make it 10 miles without I can go another 3, right?)
3. Have fun and take in every second of it! (I think I am going to carry my camera)
I had to go to my parents house today to join my mom for a craft show! It was fun and I got some neat things!

I took this on the way to my parents house! I know this is a money maker, but it sure does make for a ckoud of allergies! :o(
That is dust above the cotton bales!
I bought some Mexican Pickles from this elder couple that are retired. They were having a hay day today at the craft show!
They are pickles with jalepenos! YUM! Tonight I chopped up 1/4 cup and mixed them in with half a block of fat free Cream Cheese and made a dip! It was delish!!!
I love PASTA! This was Mushroom Fettuccine! I made Grilled Chicken Fettuccine with Green hatch Chili's! It was super yum! These noodles are cholestorol free and all natural!
I love small town homemade goods! :o)
If you raced this weekend, I hope you had *FUN* and ROCKED IT!
My count down starts for Thanksgiving BREAK! T-7 days (school days)! YEA!

The perfect survival Kit
Since I am a teacher this was perfect!
"Teacher’s Survival Kit: • Animal cookies for when your classroom seems like a zoo.• Band-Aids for when things get a little rough. • Chewing Gum to help you stick to it. • Crayons to color your day bright and cheerful. • Candle for when you are up late marking or planning. • Smarties because that's who your teaching. • Time Out bar because you'll probably need it by the end of the day. • Eraser to remind you everyone makes mistakes.• Lifesavers for when you've had one of those days. • Marbles to replace the ones you've lost. • Paperclips to hold it all together. • Pencil to "write your wrongs." • Rubber band to remind you to be flexible. • Shiny Penny to remind you that each will shine in his or her own special way.• Starburst to give you a "burst" of energy when you need it. • Tissues to wipe away the tears...yours and theirs. • Toothpicks to help you "pick" out the good qualities in others and yourself.• A prayer for you to say at the start of each day."
This pretty much sums up my day everyday, is it worth it? YES, every second of it! I love my job (working with kids) I can't imagine me doing anything else! On another note!
I went running to night and ran a PR! It was suppose to be a normal running night and for some reason I was ready to run! I ran my 5K in 26:13! At one point I looked down and was running a 7:50 pace! YEA! I have been trying to run my small runs much faster so that my long runs are a tad bit easier! So far it has worked out! This weekend I am running a 5K for a good cause! Its going to be so much fun! Not only because it's a race, but I get to run with some of the BHC girlies!

Road Trippin' with a big Oompa Loompa
Our weekend was AwEsOmE! We had sooo much fun! It was so relaxing and was just what we needed! We were there on our 5 month anniversary (We made it longer than Kim Kardashian... Like that is saying much!) so it was the perfect time to go on a mini-vaca! If you were wondering where we went we went to Ruidoso! My grandparents live there and my parents just bought land and are about to build a log cabin on it! We couldn't be more excited! I absolutely love the mountains! I love waking up in the mornings and going running at the golf course and then eating breakfast at unique places... Oh and we can't forget the coffee out on a patio overlooking the mountains! Moutains are a huge thing for us because remember I live in FLAT land and when I say flat, I mean FLAT!
Our Oompa Loompa!
Boss was a trooper! He had so much fun!
This was our cute little cabin that we rented for the weekend! It was super small, but was perfect for us... we were never there!
This was right in front of our cabin on Saturday morning! Boss did not like them!
This is the golf course! You can barely see it, but that is the ski mountain! Saturday was super cold and WINDY (40 + MPH) and it snowed on the mountain, but just rained in town!
I was suppose to 9 miles this weekend, but I did not plan on it be so windy! So I ran 4 and over half of it was up hill and into the wind! I am telling myself that it compensated for the 5 I did not run! :o)
After I went running and John took Boss to the dog park we went to my favorite place! Sacred Grounds! They have the BEST Coffee and breakfast!
We love to go wine tasting so they have a new place so we checked it out! Love him! (I know I am clashing with red and pink on, but I didn't think i needed more than one jacket... whoops)
After we went wine tasting we made it out to the Inn of the Mountain Gods and Casino (we are not gamblers... I rather buy new shoes then put money in a slot!) They do have this bar that over looks the lake and we sat in there and had a glass of wine and a beer! Perfect!
My wine was perfectly Sweet! It was a Mascato!
This is the view from my parents land! It is so pretty! I can't wait to be able to go up there whenever! I think I might become a little spoilt!
That is how my weekend went! It was perfect! That was Boss's first long trip and probably his last! He was great, but he is just TOO BIG to travel like that!
How was your weekend?
You have any running plans?
- I have 10 miles to do this weekend! I am at the point that running is enjoyable again and I am kinda likeing it!
Hope you have a great Monday!

5 Alive!
The other day I was at the grocery store and I ran into this brochure! I usually keep walking by, but this one caught my attention. 5 Alive! It is a liquid form of veggies and fruits! I picked up a brochure to research it a little bit more.
Here are a few perks:
*Low in Calories
*Low in Carbs
*No added Sugar
*No preservatives
*No Gluten
*No yeast
This product is made to help people consume 5 servings of veggies and fruits a day! You can read more about HERE! There are a lot of interesting things on their website! I thought this was very interesting... I am still debating rather I would like it or not!
Would you rather drink your veggies and fruits or do you like eating them?
I love Pinterst and here are some neat things that I have found on their regarding fitness and healthty eating!
